Vatrer 48V(51.2V) 100Ah Self-heating LiFePO4 Lithium Solar Battery
FAQs
Yes. Our Vatrer home solar batteries can be added to an existing solar installation when the inverter and charging system support compatible lithium battery storage.
Our 51.2V 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries provide 5.12kWh of storage with a 58.4V charging specification. A standard grid-tied solar inverter may not support battery charging directly, so an AC-coupled storage solution or compatible hybrid inverter may be required.
Check your existing inverter's model, battery voltage range and storage capability before upgrading. If you're replacing the inverter, choose one with a supported battery communication protocol and the ability to manage both solar charging and household loads.
Yes, when connected to a properly configured backup power system. Solar panels alone usually shut down during grid outages to prevent electricity from feeding back into utility lines.
Our Vatrer LiFePO4 batteries store energy for use through a compatible backup-capable inverter and approved transfer or isolation equipment.
Before installation, identify the circuits you want protected, such as refrigeration, internet and essential lighting. Configure the inverter's backup output and verify that it can isolate your home from the grid.
If you want solar panels to keep recharging the battery during an extended outage, confirm that your inverter supports solar charging while operating in backup mode.
Our 51.2V 100Ah home solar battery stores 5.12kWh of nominal energy. Allowing a 20% battery reserve and 90% inverter efficiency provides approximately 3.69kWh of planned usable AC energy.
Estimated runtime at a steady load:
- 250W: Approximately 14.7 hours
- 500W: Approximately 7.4 hours
- 1,000W: Approximately 3.7 hours
A refrigerator, internet router and LED lighting may average 150–300W combined, although actual usage varies.
Check appliance energy labels or measure total consumption over 24 hours. Base your battery choice on average energy use, then separately verify the inverter's ability to handle appliance startup surges.
Yes. Home solar battery storage can reduce electricity purchased during higher-priced periods by storing solar energy or charging when grid electricity is cheaper.
For example, assume off-peak electricity costs 10¢/kWh and on-peak electricity costs 25¢/kWh (all amounts in CAD). Supplying 4 kWh during peak hours avoids $1.00 in energy charges. At 90% round-trip efficiency, replenishing that energy requires approximately 4.44 kWh, costing $0.44 off-peak—about $0.56 in daily energy-charge savings before other costs.
Ontario offers Time-of-Use, Ultra-Low Overnight and Tiered price plans. Net-metering credits can also change the financial benefit of storing solar energy instead of exporting it.
Compare your utility's actual rates, export credits, installation costs and expected daily battery use before calculating payback. Configure charging schedules through your compatible inverter or energy-management system.
Size your solar array around the cottage's daily electricity consumption and the amount of energy it can realistically generate during the lowest-sunlight season.
For example, a 1,500W solar array receiving two peak sun hours generates approximately 2.25kWh per day after an assumed 25% system loss. If your cottage uses 3kWh daily, the battery bank loses roughly 0.75kWh each day unless another charging source replaces the shortfall.
Our expandable LiFePO4 battery storage can carry energy between sunny periods, but additional battery capacity cannot correct a long-term generation deficit.
For year-round Canadian cottage use, calculate your winter loads, account for snow and shading, and size the array around winter generation. Keep a generator or compatible alternative charging source available during extended cloudy periods.
Our 51.2V LiFePO4 home batteries work with compatible 48V inverter systems. The battery and inverter must match electrically and, when using closed-loop battery management, through a supported communication protocol.
Our 51.2V 100Ah rack and wall-mounted models feature a 100A BMS, supporting up to 5,120W of nominal continuous DC output per battery.
Batteries with CAN and RS485 communication can integrate with supported inverter protocols, including configurations for Victron, Growatt and other platforms.
Before purchasing, confirm three specifications:
- The inverter accepts a 51.2V nominal LiFePO4 battery.
- Its charging settings comply with the battery's voltage and current limits.
- Its BMS communication protocol is supported by the exact battery and inverter models.
Matching connectors alone doesn't guarantee communication compatibility.
Both options provide 5.12kWh of storage per Vatrer 51.2V 100Ah lithium battery, but their installation layouts serve different needs.
Our server-rack batteries suitable for dedicated battery racks where multiple modules can be organized together. Our wall-mounted lithium batteries are freeing up floor space in utility rooms or equipment areas.
Both designs offer built-in battery monitoring, including on-unit displays. Choose a rack setup when you want centralized modular storage. Choose wall mounting when floor space is limited and the mounting surface can safely support the battery's weight. Allow sufficient clearance for wiring, access and installation requirements.
Yes. Our modular LiFePO4 home batteries allow you to increase storage capacity as your electricity needs grow without replacing the entire battery bank.
Each 51.2V 100Ah module stores 5.12kWh:
- 2 batteries: 10.24kWh
- 4 batteries: 20.48kWh
- 6 batteries: 30.72kWh
Our 51.2V 100Ah Wi-Fi server-rack LiFePO4 battery supports up to 10 compatible batteries in parallel, reaching 51.2kWh. Our wall-mounted battery series supports up to 30 compatible units, reaching 153.6kWh.
Use matching battery models and the manufacturer's approved parallel configuration. Verify inverter capacity, current-sharing arrangements, cable protection and battery communication before adding modules.
Yes. You can via Bluetooth APP monitor state of charge (SOC), voltage, current and temperature without visiting the cottage. The Wi-Fi battery models also support OTA firmware updates and remote configuration features. Our rack and wall-mou nted batteries also provide on-unit displays for checking battery information directly.
Check SOC and temperature before severe weather, and use the available battery data to plan charging or load reductions.
Standard LiFePO4 batteries should not receive normal charging current when their internal cells are below 0°C (32°F). Our self-heating solar battery uses incoming charging power to warm the cells when their temperature reaches approximately 0°C. Normal charging resumes after the cells warm to about 5°C (41°F). This makes self-heating useful for unheated garages and off-grid cottages, particularly when charging from winter solar production.
If your installation frequently drops below freezing, choose a heated model and maintain sufficient charging input. For non-heated batteries, use a temperature-controlled installation area and never bypass low-temperature BMS protection.
